Color deGrading
Many movies since mid 2000's have a common visual feature - excessive and uniform color tints applied to every frame indiscriminately. But, since color perception depends on a particular viewer and viewing device used, I prefer to color correct those tints not only by examining the result with my eyes, but to check overall color shift beforehand. If math proves some significant and systematic deviation from neutral gray - that's a sign that I may at least try to counter that deviation in all the tones except the darkest ones. So, the first offender is Twilight (2008). It's problem is greenish tint so prominent that the skies are not blue anymore, faces look unhealthy and common gray objects are not gray anymore. The following comparison sheets illustrate tint removal + gamma correction 1.25 (since this move is also quite dark). Top parts - original, bottom parts - processed.
